Sharon McMaster BSc(H), MLT, EMT
Sharon began working with horses at a very early age. By her mid-teens she was successfully breeding and training children's ponies. Her first experience in the racing industry came with work on a Standardbred farm where she prepped yearlings for sale. Since that time she has spent numerous years working on various Standardbred and Thoroughbred farms. From the broodmares and foals through to the racing individuals, Sharon has experience with horses at all stages of development.

Having been passionate about horses all her life, it was only natural for Sharon to seek out a profession in the equine industry. It was her experience with race horses that drew her into the field of equine massage. The race horses would return home to the farm for lay-up due to injury and Sharon realized there was an opportunity to aid in their rehabilitation. Researching various methods of rehabilitation, Sharon discovered that massage was extremely effective in not only reducing rehabilitation time, but also in prevention of injury and performance enhancement.

In preparation for her career as an equine massage therapist, Sharon attended D'AL School of Equine Massage Therapy. Upon graduation from the intensive 2-year program in June of 2000, Sharon established McMaster Massage and began providing equine massage therapy services throughout Ontario. Sharon continued her education at the University of Windsor, graduating with an Honours degree in Biology.

Her experience in the racing industry provided Sharon with the opportunity to massage numerous successful thoroughbred and standardbred horses. However, McMaster Massage is not limited to this one discipline. In fact, Sharon has had experience with horses from all walks of life including dressage, hunter/jumper, reining, as well as companion and trail horses. Although currently based in Kitchener, Sharon's clientele have taken her as far north as Barrie as well as down to the Windsor region.
